Resonate Bio Secures Austria Wirtschaftsservice (AWS) Deep Tech Seed Financing to Advance AI-Driven NMR Platform — and Bets on Itself with First Internal Therapeutics Program

Vienna, Austria — May 27, 2026 — Resonate Bio, a University of Vienna spinout and Vienna-based biotechnology company developing an AI-enabled NMR platform for structure-guided drug discovery, today announced that it has been awarded Deep Tech Seed financing from Austria Business Service (AWS).

Resonate Bio combines nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and artificial intelligence to generate experimentally grounded structural ensembles of protein–ligand interactions in solution. Unlike conventional structural biology approaches that primarily provide static snapshots, the company’s platform directly observes dynamic molecular ensembles – capturing how proteins actually move, bind, and select their targets. The result: movies instead of photos.

“We believe many of the most important therapeutic targets remain difficult to drug because their dynamics are effectively invisible to conventional drug discovery approaches,” said Dr. Darryl McConnell. “Building the platform was exciting — but beginning to apply it against targets long considered undruggable is why we started Resonate Bio.”

The company’s technology originated from research performed through the Christian Doppler Laboratory collaboration between the University of Vienna and Boehringer Ingelheim.

“Our goal is to directly observe protein–ligand dynamics in solution — we let proteins breathe and move, rather than trapping them in crystals. We measure them directly, in solution, as they are,” said Prof. Robert Konrat. “And typically, this takes less than an hour.”

The financing will support both the continued scaling of Resonate Bio’s AI-NMR platform and the launch of its first internal therapeutic program — putting the movies to work.
